Poem: Ode to Mother
Mother, please don’t fade away:
Don’t inform me, strapped
To this hospital mattress,
That you’ve got ft of clay.
Mother, I’ll pray for you
By the dying gentle:
Mother, I would like you to
Know that I like you
With all my may.
Mother, please don’t say
You welcome oblivion
And need to move on:
“Son, my time has come!”
Mother, I need to arrest
Your decline and make
You mine for one final time.
Mother, once you have been younger,
You have been sturdy and
Didn’t must
Carry a loaded gun
To show your energy.
Mother, do you recall
How the world was ours?
Mother, I keep in mind how,
After I was a child in diapers,
You held me in your arms:
Mother, you have been all allure
And stood shining within the gentle
Of your poses:
In spite of everything, mother, you have been
Made from lilacs and roses.
Mother, I don’t need to
Lose you: as a substitute, I
Wish to take you residence,
So you may, as soon as once more,
Get pleasure from this attractive sundown,
Drink a cup of tea with me
For firm, mindfully,
And pay attention spontaneously
To the pure chirping
Of the birds within the morning.
Mother, please don’t fade away,
Stick with me:
Let’s set sail on the excessive sea.
Mother, simply you and me.
So, this darkish night time
Leaves you alone
In quiet and peace.
Mother, why don’t you
Get pleasure from this light
And silent breeze:
And look, mother, at
These smiling, dancing bushes!
Mother, pray don’t go away
Me alone:
Mother, I don’t need
To inherit a damaged residence.
